Bill Brooks, Sound Stage!, January 2004 CES Report.

"I was told to sit down and listen to some good music to refresh and relax me. I sat. The Golden Sound crew proceeded to play a beautiful Beatles tribute SACD through an extremely imposing multichannel speaker setup. The fronts alone consisted of four towers, each nearly seven feet tall. Most of the time such imposing speakers sound, well, imposing. In this case they did exactly as promised. The speakers disappeared and the music was smooth, refreshing, relaxing."

Clement Perry, The Stereo Times, January 2004 CES Report.

"All in all, I would have to nominate this loudspeaker as one of those biggest bang for the bucks around. Personally, for the price, I think they're capable of going toe to toe against most, if not all, loudspeakers I've heard at the show in the areas of playing loud and powerfully without falling apart."

Marshall Nack, The Stereo Times, August 2003.

"I have had the Golden Sound PCs in the system for about eight months, and many components have come and gone, but the Red and the Blue have become my references. I'll put them up against any power cord, regardless of price."

Dave Thomas, The Stereo Times, May 2003.

"Used individually, each of these products will make nice little improvements to your system's sound. But when used together, they are a revelation. So, if the bass in your system is a little chubby, if the mid-range has lost it's enthusiasm, and if Heaven forbid, your highs just don't get you as high as they used to, then you may be ready for a little Golden Sound workout."

Marshall Nack, The Stereo Times, April 2003

Take a set of three Jumbo DH Cones. Place one point side up on the disc drawer cover, and two along the rear edge of the 777ES. Unlikely as it may seem, this tweak addressed the same areas as the SID, but with about half the improvement.

Henry Wilkenson, The Stereo Times, January 2002

Overall the sound opened up, there seemed to be more space between the instruments with a corresponding increase in the focus. It wasn't a jaw dropping, freeze you in place improvement (these rarely happen in the high-end realm anyway), but the difference was as noticeable as it was welcome. B.... The greatest improvement was achieved by installing the cones and pads under the transport.

Given the universe of isolation devices and room treatment devices on the market today, some of them with very serious prices attached to them, Golden Sound has managed to come out with some very effective products at very reasonable prices. As always, you have to experiment since they are room and system dependent. If you choose to do so, I think that your efforts will be well rewarded.

Marshall Nack, The Stereo Times, December 2001.

"The Golden Sound DH Squares and DH Cones are especially good at enhancing the natural timbral balance we strive for in high-end systems while maintaining detail retrieval, and so belong in a very select group of products. As promised by the manufacturer, they offer very good value.

The Acoustic Discs are more radical in concept but have the biggest impact. They are also easily recommended because they fix your room's sound problems in a way no other product addresses. ... Acoustic Discs correct the build up of acoustic energy and address the timing issues created by ceiling corners. ... I think they promote a natural acoustic and now prefer them in my room."

Todd Warnke, Soundstage, January 1998

If you spring for the large cones, at $50 a trio, $80 with matching squares, the Golden Sound products are extremely affordable and offer some of the best value in all the high end. I've got to say that I am quite surprised to find how many components they work well with. No doubt, part of that broad range of applicability is due to the flexibility of the cone/square combination. But still, it is very rare to find any high-end product that has near universal application. I recommend that if you aren't using footers right now get yourself some Golden Sound DH cones and squares today. And if you are using footers, at your next chance beg, borrow, or buy some of the Golden Sound products and see if the flexibility of the cone/square combo won't work for you too.

Sam Telling, Stereophile, December, 1997

Chang will change your sound. That he will, if in doubt, start with a $20 set of ceremic cones under your CD player- unless you have a tube amp. In that case, start with cones and square pads under your amp or amps - tubes are microphonic, you know, and output tubes especially so. Or go all the way right away, with a large pad and cones under the amp.

Jonathan Scull, Stereophile, November, 1997

In general, the DH footer solution created a wonderfully palpable and airy sonic construct. The highs and upper midrange were beautiful and open, the midrange has just the right amount of juice, the lower midrange wasn't boomy at all, and the bass extension was excellent.

Alan Taffel, Audio Adventure, October 1996

"I highly recommend a set of DH Cones by Golden Sound ($50 per set of three). They significantly improve transient response on this unit (Rotel RDP 980)."

Brent Butterworth , Home Theater, October 1996

"We first listened to the system without tweaks, then tried placing the DH Cones under the laserdisc player. The entire panel agreed that the $40 DH Cones improved the sound". Al said "the mids became much more focused and detailed." Alex agreed. " I did hear a noticeable difference," he said. "There was a little more top (treble), and the soundstage opened up." Brian and I pretty much agreed."

Edward M. King, Audio, April 1996

"I have tested a number of isolation devices by applying mechanical impulses and measuring the results with an accelerometer connected to a digital storage oscilloscope and an FFT analyzer. I've found that conical feet....do affect the vibrational energy in both the time and frequency domains,..."

Wes Fillips, Stereophile recommended components , April and October 1996

"Ceramic Cones that WP finds effective under a wide variety of equipment?because of their compact size, he find them easier to place under equipment than their taller brethren. Rounded tip lessen the danger of flesh-wounds."

Tom Miller, Play, Spring 1997

"$1500 to sonic nirvana A simple premise: Select the best of affordable products reviewed here since October 1994 and hook 'em up. It should be possible to build a killer system, yes? That was the theory, leaving out the ugly variable called synergy.

Play's testing philosophy for affordable equipment is also simple: we believe the best way to evaluate any component's merit is to place it in a state-of -the-art system to accurately reveal its pluses and minuses. In our two-plus years, we've discovered some wonderful gear this way So we set a target price of $1,500 for this first,CD only system......

...two more little devices of reasonable cost will further enhance the sound. If you're setting your electronics on a cabinet, consider two sets of DH Cones and DH Squares from Golden Sound. The Cones are ceramic and rest point down on the cabinet surface. The Squares, which appear to be polymer, sit on top of the Cones and the components sits on top of them. Total Cost: $80 per set."

Positive Feedback, Vol. 7, #2

"A product that excells Black Diamond Racing in some locations, at roughly the same price. Sorry not to be more specific, but when it gets down to details, you be the judge! These feet are very good, and avaliable in four difference sizes."
